unspoken attractions come to light. The inescapable truths of the
heart will either strengthen or destroy their seemingly fragile bond, but
only if they can learn to trust each other -- and themselves.
Crew Cast
Director's Bio - Corey Ziemniak Part artist and part scientist, having an undergraduate degree in both Filmmaking and Astrophysics from Boston University, Corey has been studying directing for several years. Most recently, he finished his Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Southern California. Corey has worked extensively with actors, and in many mediums ranging from all forms of video to the most intricate 35mm shoots. A student of Jeremy Kagan (who in turn was a student of John Cassavetes), Corey strives to make films that resonate and get at the heart of uncovering truths of the human condition. The Love Within represents the culmination of the last ten years of my life. In 1996, I began my path toward filmmaking, which ultimately brought me to USC, and also in 1996 I met the real-life “Meg” and “Joshua” who would forever change me and pave the way for this story to unfold. In a more general sense, I am and always have been utterly confounded and intrigued by the human condition. No one subject interests me greater than trying to piece together the truths of life, love and human existence. I think all the stories I ever have or will want to tell reflect that point in some capacity. I feel like modern cinema is still lacking in stories that really get to the heart of honest human emotion -- the ones that move us so deeply, yet ground us by remembering that reality is not the fantasy we want for ourselves but cannot have. I crave these stories. I yearn to know and to understand and to share what really drives us as people. My goal is to use the medium of film to help uncover these truths -- to help remind ourselves that there is a real world out there, and in that real world, hope is still very much alive. |
